Under the patronage of Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Emir of the Eastern Province, the International Autism Conference witnessed the inauguration of the first advisory council for autism services at the Kingdom level, headed by Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Farhan Al Saud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Autism Families Association.

The First Advisory Council aims to improve the quality of services provided to people with autism spectrum disorder throughout the Kingdom. This is done by acting as a technical advisory resource for service providers in the sector, in conjunction with being a main reference for autism families in providing reliable information and correct consultations.

The Emir of the Eastern Province stated that everyone continues to give and support everything that benefits our dear ones and our sons and daughters with autism, and that the opportunities and initiatives that we seek will contribute - effectively - to improving the quality of their lives and highlighting them as active and influential individuals in society.”

The Advisory Council works to discuss opportunities to support charitable and non-profit organizations in the field of autism, and exchange best practices in the fields of rehabilitation, in addition to studying the mechanism for proposing and implementing initiatives to improve the quality of specialized services at the Kingdom level, and discussing institutional challenges for service providers in various fields of employment, financing, and care.
