THE REPRESENTATIVE OF THE EASTERN EMIRATE OPENS THE FIRST FORUM FOR SERVICES PROVIDED TO PEOPLE WITH AUTISM AT THE REGIONAL LEVEL

On behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Eastern Province; Yesterday, the Undersecretary of the Eastern Emirate, Dr. Khaled bin Muhammad Al-Battal, inaugurated the first forum for services provided to people with autism spectrum disorder at the regional level, organized by the Autism Families Association under the title "Unite Efforts", at the headquarters of the Asharqia Chamber, and it will last for two days, in conjunction with the Disability Awareness Month.

The forum aims to introduce services provided to people with autism spectrum disorder from all sectors, strengthen partnership between sectors and service providers for people with autism, and highlight the most important needs of autism to develop programs and projects that serve their aspirations at the regional level, in addition to raising the level of community awareness about the disorder.
The Director General of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development branch in the Eastern Region, Abdul Rahman Al-Muqbel, noted the support and interest that the charitable sector in the region enjoys from His Highness the Emir of the Eastern Region and His Highness his deputy, and what the state has harnessed in terms of capabilities to support this important sector, which made it a partner in achieving the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. It provided him with all the support and facilities that help him achieve this goal and contribute effectively to achieving the goals and aspirations of the wise leadership - may God support them.
It is noteworthy that the Autism Families Association provides a number of training, rehabilitation and community integration programs, as well as various services to more than 5,000 families, through five main branches in each of the city of Riyadh, the eastern region, the Asir region, and the governorates of Al-Kharj and Dawadmi, in addition to 15 representatives distributed throughout the Kingdom.​
