In the presence of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Autism Families Association, Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Farhan Al Saud, and Board Member Princess Samira bint Abdullah Al-Faisal Al Saud, the Association held the closing ceremony of the Princess Samira bint Abdullah Al-Faisal Al Saud Program for the rehabilitation and employment of youth with autism spectrum disorder at the Daim Hall of King Khalid Foundation, in the presence of Prince Saud bin Abdulaziz bin Farhan Al Saud.
The ceremony was attended by the program's supporter - Sanad Mohammed bin Salman Program, success partner Slouk Medical Center, high-ranking officials, people with autism and their families.
The program is a qualitative rehabilitation initiative that seeks to achieve vocational and social empowerment for people with autism spectrum disorder, by building their capacities and developing their skills in a comprehensive rehabilitation environment that takes into account their psychological and social needs, and promotes their independence and readiness for the labor market.
It lasted for 8 months and included training 16 young people with autism and providing support to their families with a total of 15,120 hours of assessment and training, under the supervision of 18 specialized specialists at Suluk Medical Center.
For her part, board member of the Autism Families Association, Princess Samira bint Abdullah Al Faisal Al Saud, said: "I am happy today to be present in this forum, which is the culmination of a captivating success with families with autism after a journey that extended for more than thirty years as a mother of an autistic young man. I relied on God with a group of mothers to care, nurture and empower our sons and daughters with autism, and it was, praise be to God, a blessed nucleus that had a great impact in introducing and raising awareness of autism through voluntary and humanitarian work that our Islamic religion urges us to do towards society. Today, we are reaping the fruits of the support of families.
Which, praise be to God, has become at a distinguished level of awareness that enables it to bring our children with autism to stability and self-reliance ... and it is no secret to everyone that people with special needs enjoy the care and attention of the rulers of God through the vision of our dear country 2030, and what the association contributes today through the rehabilitation program ending with employment comes to keep pace with the aspirations of officials, families and interested people ... We have achieved an important goal that we have all been striving for for many years and we are witnessing its success today. Congratulations to my children for reaching the fruit of 8 months of effort. You deserve joy and achievement, and success is worthy of you and adorned ... The objectives of the qualitative rehabilitation program focused on improving the lives of beneficiaries with ASD, enabling them to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to participate effectively in the labor market in accordance with their individual inclinations and abilities, focusing on cognitive, sensory, social, and independence aspects, enhancing self-confidence and self-esteem, building healthy relationships that contribute to reducing isolation and promoting belonging, as well as modifying behaviors that may hinder the process of social integration or employment.
